LEDs existed for decades however there are not really popular until recently. Well, there are a number of households still have Halogen Globes at home because they are relatively cheap as compared to LEDs. We are sending out this message to public in order to create awareness for those who are still unaware. Below are a few things that you need to know about Halogen:

1. Halogen operates at a very high operating temperature: The tungsten halide in the Halogen Globe is kept >250°C and it can reach up to 1400°C to operate and prevent the tungsten from sticking to the bulb wall.

2. Uplight Halogens have already been banned in USA (lamp causes fire, fire causes death).

3. Halogens are to be banned in Europe by year 2016.

4. Halogens can dazzle children and cause migraine due to the intensity of the light therefore they are harmful.

5. Incineration of certain Halogen-based materials releases dioxins into the atmosphere and these byproducts can be harmful to humans.

6. Additional fire prevention features are required for safe operation, such as heat protections canister to keep flammables away from Halogen Globe and insulation at ceiling.

7. One 50w Halogen Globe can produce 4.28tonnes of CO2 emission per year.

So what is the alternative for Halogen Globes? Of course, it must be LEDs. Next question will be "What is so good about LEDs?" Your answers are at the tables below:

1. How much can you actually save if using LED Globe*
